VPS Hosting vs. Reseller Hosting
In this blog we will give you an overview of what a VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting is and what Reseller hosting account is:
Reseller Hosting:
Reseller Hosting is nothing more then a glorified version of a shared hosting account. Basically, it runs exactly the same as any regular shared hosting account, but simply has more options and an extra panel, called WHM (Web Host Manager). Like everything else, there are disadvantages, and advantages. Below are some of both:
- All resources are shared among all users (and resellers) of the server.
- Depending on how it is configured, it’s possible to have “nobody files,” which means that files that you made don’t belong to you (common problem).
- If you have a “bad neighbor” you will know very fast, as it’s possible for one user to crash the whole server.
- Normally a reseller hosting account is managed and that means that there is only a limited amount of things you need to know to start your own hosting company.
Virtual Private Servers (VPS):
Virtualization is not a new technology. In fact it has been around for many many years. How does a VPS work? A VPS is a virtual private environment, basically, where you are the captain of your own ship.
